EDDIE'S HOMES

19 ELDRIDGE STREET NYC (photo taken in 2002)
It has been said that this is where Eddie was born (above a tea room)

47 HENRY STREET NYC (photo taken in 2002)
Eddie and his grandmother moved here after his parents died. As far back as 1939 this has been an empty lot and greatly disappointed Eddie to see his childhood home gone.

11 MARKET STREET NYC (photo taken in 1939)
This was where Eddie and his grandmother moved when they could no longer afford the $9 a month rent at 47 Henry St. In fact, they couldn't afford the house you see here; they lived in the back house for $7 a month with one toilet for 16 families.

This is how it looks today--an empty lot between the two buildings.

101 PARK AVENUE MOUNT VERNON NY
This is his first house during his run in KID BOOTS circa 1925. If you look on the left side, the second set of windows on the second floor is where Margie and Natalie shared a bedroom! There have been some additions but it still stands. (photo courtesy of Jack Ciaramella)

MIDDLE NECK ROAD GREAT NECK NY
This was the Great Neck Long Island NY mansion of 1929 where he lived from late 1927 until the Crash. It was demolished. (see our Great Neck Estate section )

807 N. RODEO DRIVE BEVERLY HILLS CA
One of Eddie's first homes after his move to California in the early 30s. It still stands.

1012 N. ROXBURY DRIVE BEVERLY HILLS CA
From the late 30s til 1950, this is what Eddie and his family called home. It has been remodelled but still stands.

720 PASEO EL MIRADOR PALM SPRINGS CA
Ida got this home for Eddie in 1951 as a surprise and named it EL POONELO (Eddie's nickname.) In 1962, Eddie, grieving for Ida, sold it with all its furnishings for a pittance.

9360 MONTE LEON LANE BEVERLY HILLS CA
This was the last home of Eddie and Ida and it had no pool. It was the Cantor residence from 1951 until 1964. There is now a pool in the backyard.
